Artist's Comments

It's finished. I just kinda gave up on the shading on the hoody. It didn't work out at all and only succeeded at making me angry. The hair still looks extremely fake too... Other than that, it's alright. My sister liked it... and it was only a month late for her birthday lol

Whoaaaa!!! it's DONE...
His Face look 'real'.. I Love it!!!
:iconcassandra28:
Love it! Looks awesome to me - probably the only thing I'd do is jump in Photoshop and either colour or paint over that little white bit in the bottom left hand corner so that it doesn't catch the eye.

But that's actually got very little to do with the drawing!

i think itīs perfect like that, the roughness of his hair makes it more interesting

The only thing that really stood out to me is the texture of the dark shading in the hair and the shirt, the way you can see the strokes. I don't have the experience to suggest a concrete solution, though. :P Have you experimented with a charcoal pencil? I noticed a lot of the photorealistic guys list those as tools. Or maybe use the flat side of a graphite stick to fill large areas (like the Lyra crayons we were talking about on my journal page?) Dunno... <shrug>

Anyway, don't be too hard on yourself! It's great, and schmucks like me would give a lot to produce anything even close to that realistic! :o

THE HAIR LOOKS FAKE????!!! You're kidding me right?! Please?! It's feckin amazing... I wish my attempts at stubble were half as good as that! Wait til I finish the pic I'm doing at the minute and you'll see badly drawn hair and feel waaaay better bout yourself :D

The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return. :ahoy:

It still came out well but I can see what you're saying about the hair compared to your other works.

The story behind the painting I drew is already told. No more tear stains on the pages of my diary.
